• Date, time and numbers : Give the bus charter company the dates and times you will need to secure your booking. Also give them the number of people which need to be transported so that they can allocate a bus that will be able to transport your group together (or a number of busses).
• Luggage transport . If you are only going to be using the bus hire service for one day, the company won’t have to allocate space for travel luggage. If you are taking a sports team on tour for a week, however, they may need to send a minibus with your group’s luggage or have the bus hire company allocate a larger vehicle.
• Extra requirements . Reputable bus hire companies are often willing to customise their service for your outing or event. Let them know if you would like to offer a bar service or food during the trip (and ask for a cost estimate for these services). Also ask if they cater for wheel chair access if you need this service.
• Emergency plans . Find out how often the vehicles get serviced and what type of contingency plan they have in case the bus breaks down during your trip.
• Itinerary planning . Will you be planning the route or can the company take care of the itinerary planning? Make sure the travel route is planned before you depart.
